Zsolt Makra
CEO, Docler Investments Ltd.
Zsolt Makra earned his degree in economics and business administration and chartered accountant certificate at the University of Szeged in 2003, he received his PhD grade in informal venture capital from the University of Pécs in 2008. In his early career Zsolt worked as manager of regional development programs for VÁTI, gained venture capital financing experience at the Small Business Development Financial Ltd. as portfolio manager, from 2007 he acted as Business Development Manager at INNOSTART where among other things, established and managed the First Hungarian Business Angel Network, match-making channel of early-stage companies seeking equity financing and venture capital investors. In 2010 he joined Docler Group where as CEO of the Docler Investments Ltd. he is responsible for the venture capital investment and M&A activities. He is a well-known expert and researcher of the business angel and venture capital financing, wrote more than 25 publications in this field. Invited lecturer at the University of Szeged and Budapest Corvinus University, organiser and trainer of several conferences, trainings and workshops dealing with innovation, entrepreneurship and venture capital.
Chris Mattheisen
CEO, Magyar Telekom
Born in 1961. Degrees in economics from Indiana University Bloomington and Columbia University New York. First came to Hungary in 1990 to start consulting company for business analysis and strategic planning. From 1993 to 1996 was Marketing and Sales Director of Westel 900 (later T-Mobile Hungary). From there moved on to Poland to participate in launching Era GSM for US WEST International as Director of Marketing, Sales and Strategy. From 1997 to 1999 headed up in London US WEST’s (later MediaOne) marketing and sales activities for its European mobile subsidiaries. Subsequently served at BT Cellnet as Business Marketing and Sales Director. From September 2002 was member of Magyar Telekom’s Management Committee and Chief Officer responsible for Residential Services. From January 2005 to June 2006 served as Chief Operating Officer leading the Wireline Services line of business (T-Com). Appointed Magyar Telekom’s Chief Executive Officer on December 5, 2006 and elected Chairman of the Board of Directors on December 21, 2006.

András Nyírő
Published multimedia CD-s in the early 90’s, later founder and editor-in-chief of the first Hungarian news portals, Internetto and Index. He was director of content development at Westel, market leading mobile operator in the mid-2000s. Later responsible for mobile content development at Ringier Publishing, Swiss print media company. From 2007 he worked at a charity organization, they installed PCs and internet access in 2000 households in the 120 poorest villages of Hungary. Actually he works in his own mobile content development company, Appsters.
Dr. Péter Oszkó

Péter Oszkó is a financial specialist; he holds a law degree and is a certified tax expert. He started his career as a tax consultant with KPMG, and then joined the company’s London office as a member of the team offering consulting services to financial institutions. Later, he joined the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He joined the Hungarian branch of Deloitte as a partner in 2004. From 2006, he oversaw the company's tax consultancy division; in 2007, he became president and CEO of Deloitte Hungary. He also headed the consultancy divisions of several other countries in the region. During his career, he has dealt with some of the biggest corporations in the financial and the energy sectors, telecommunications, media and technology, real estate, biotechnology and the pharmaceuticals industry, as well as a host of other large companies. He assumed a leading role in several business acquisitions, in the business and financial processes of corporate transformations, and in developing contractual terms for the companies involved. In recognition of his successes in business, finances, corporate leadership and process management, he was chosen Young Manager of the Year in 2008. From April 2009 until the 2010 national elections, he served as Minister of Finance in the technocrat government of the Republic of Hungary. His tasks included managing the financial crisis, with a specific focus on the transformation of the state budget and tax structures, the renewal of the pension and social support systems, restoring the market financing of the state budget, the oversight of state asset transactions, as well as conducting negotiations with international financial institutions and inter-governmental economic bodies. He has published and presented widely in practically all fields of finances, taxation, budget and economic policy as well as corporate leadership and management.
Róbert Pataki
Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer, Magyar Telekom
He graduated as an economist from the University of Corvinus in Budapest then completed studies in international finances and marketing management at the University of Erasmus in Rotterdam. He started his career as an investment analyst with Project Finance International Ltd. in Hague in 1995, then worked for Nutricia Netherlands BV in Rotterdam in 1996 where he was a financial analyst. He joined Accenture (Andersen Consulting) in 1996 and until 2001 he worked for Accenture’s Strategic Services first as a strategic consultant senior manager, later as a senior manager responsible for the telecommunications and e-commerce sectors. From 2001 he continued his professional career with A.T. Kearney as a dedicated account manager providing consultancy services to leading Hungarian telco companies, later in 2003 he became a senior manager of A.T. Kearney’s European Telecommunications Team responsible for major European projects in the field of mobile communications and internet services. He has been Chief Strategist of Magyar Telekom since September 2006. He had an outstanding role in creating the company’s new organizational structure and in elaborating MT’s growth strategy for the period up to 2010 which serves the basis for the new operational model of the company. As of April 1, 2009 he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Alternative Businesses and Corporate Development Business Unit by keeping his tasks as Chief Strategist of Magyar Telekom, as well. With his nomination he has become a Member of the Management Committee of Magyar Telekom. Due to organizational changes within the company he works as Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer from 1 September, 2009.
Shehryar Piracha
CEO/ Founder, Kupon Világ
Shehryar is obsessed with entrepreneurship and creating value for companies. In the past 8 years he has worked in management consulting, private equity and venture capital-financed entrepreneurial startups. Since April 2010 Shehryar has been deeply involved in the ‘Groupon’ business. He was in the founding team of Groupon Europe working together with the founders of Citydeal and eBay Europe. He established and managed the Groupon Belgium operations, ramping up the team to 34 people and gaining #1 market position in Belgium. Shehryar then received the opportunity to join the founding team of Rebate Networks GmbH (Groupon’s biggest global competitor) to launch similar Groupon concept businesses in Eastern Europe. In September 2010 Sheheryar moved to Budapest, Hungary to launch Kupon Vilag Kft, which has now grown to a +41 person company in 5 months growing at an exceptionally fast pace in an extremely hot and highly competitive market. Shehryar holds an MBA from INSEAD (France/Singapore) and a Master in Economics from the Helsinki School of Economics (Finland). He speaks four languages and has lived in Belgium, France, Finland, Singapore, Pakistan and Hungary.
Martin Rétai

After graduating at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics in 2001 he acquires an MA in economics at the Corvinus University of Budapest in 2004. Along with two private investors he is the founder of Internet Point Llc., a company manufacturing and operating Internet terminals. In 2003 the company becomes market leader in Hungary and is funded by the Enternet 2001 Ltd. He founds Budapest Pocket Guide Hungary Llc. in 2009 and develops a touristic service that turns smart phones into mobile tour guides. The company has won several awards both in Hungary and abroad. In 2010 the Finext Startup Venture Capital Fund invests 1.5 million Euros in the company. Currently he is working on the international introduction of Pocket Guide.

A pioneer in media architecture and internationally renowned media artist, Adam searched for years for a technology that would help him share his ideas with fellow colleagues. He couldn’t find a suitable solution so he envisioned and built Prezi in 2001. Selected Awards - Winner of the World Technology Award (WTN in assoc with TIME inc, New York) in the category of Arts, shared price with Usman Haque - I.D 50 – Selected as one of top 50 emerging designer worldwide by International Design magazine, NY - EU New Trends in Architecture, selected as one of 15 top emerging architect in 2008 within Asia-Europe
Head of book publishing and web shops at Sanoma Media Budapest Zrt.
Gabriella established the book publishing department at Sanoma in 2003. The main orientation of the titles is documentary-informative, but a special and unique storybook serial for children was also introduced, the characters of which were animated to a cartoon, which is included in the book on a DVD. In 2010, the first multimedia storybook was created, which included a cartoon, an audio book, a TV-serial, the iPad version, and an interactive game attached to the print book. Gabriella directed the development of the www.polc.hu online bookstore, and she has been leading it from the beginning. The www.polc.hu bookstore has been merchandizing e-books in Hungarian since March, 2011. Gabriella is an active participant of the web shop development at Sanoma Media Budapest Zrt.

Peter Weiler

Peter Weiler was born in 1974 in the city of Pécs. After graduating from the American Art Institute of Philadelphia in 1995, he continued his studies in Budapest at the International Business School where he graduated in 1999. Between 1997 and 1998 works for KPMG as an audit assistant then becomes a project manager at the just launched Origo. With five of his friends he is a founding member and CEO of Habostorta in 2000. The majority of the company was acquired by the German Holtzbrinck holding in 2006. This also marks the successful introduction of the subscription services in Randivonal and in 2008 the launch of brands.hu. Brands.hu was awarded the most promising online merchant prize in 2010. With Ákos Starcz co-CEO of eKönyv Magyarország which is a joint venture of Bookline and Líra. This company is a prime player in initiating ebook publishing and digital distribution in Hungary.
